CNS are always looking to recruit competent care staff to deliver the quality service which we provide.

Experience is desirable but not essential as full training is provided on recruitment and throughout employment. We also offer NVQ 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care. All successful applicants will need to have an Enhanced CRB which is paid for prior to start date.

Standards

Our organisation aims to meet the Care Certificate standards in providing services for customers. You will be expected to work with us in meeting and maintaining these standards. In addition, we are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Social Services and Primary Care Trust and are reviewed and inspected by them on a regular basis.

Abilities

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (to understand and be understood)
Basic numeracy
Basic literacy
Good basic hygiene skills (e.g. food handling, hand washing etc.)

Ability to follow a clear instruction and report to management
Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative

Able to work with minimal supervision

Ongoing Training and Supervision

You will be supervised on a one-to-one basis every 12 weeks after the induction period. You will also be required to undertake ongoing training, whenever necessary. Supervision is carried out on a regular basis during the induction period. Supervision can be office based, observational or working along side you.

Hours of Work

This has been decided at interview and could be subject to change.

Payment Times and Method

Your pay will be paid 4 weekly by internet transfer to your bank account. Frequency of pay can be subject to change.

Tax and National Insurance

We will make all the necessary deductions for tax and national insurance from your pay.

Annual Leave 1st April- 31st March

28 days holiday pro rata. No annual leave to be taken between 24th December and 2nd January. Annual leave over public holidays is at managers' discretion.

Duties

Duties usually combine elements of housekeeping, social assistance and personal care in varying degrees according to Customer requirements.

Domestic and Social Assistance

Menu planning, shopping and meal preparation for customers
Domestic duties plus personal laundry and ironing
Correspondence, arranging a social diary and receiving visitors when appropriate
Driving and assisting the customer to use public transport when appropriate
Attending social outings and visiting family and friends
Attending places of worship
Money management
Assistance with all levels of personal care
Prompts to take medication as per medication administration record
Assistance with dressing/undressing
Assistance with oral hygiene, shaving (electric shavers only), hair care and personal grooming
Moving and handling a customer in accordance with Company Policy and Procedures
Assistance with toilet care including incontinence
Catheter care

Treats Customers with respect and dignity
Ensures that own actions supports equality, diversity, rights and maintain quality
